01 — Practice

The Professional

More than thirty years of patient advocacy, clinical trial engagement, and measurable results — grounded in the trustworthiness industry must earn.

Studies have not stalled because the science was weak. They have always stalled — and still stall — because the right people were not engaged in ways that respected their intelligence, histories, priorities, and power to choose.

My work has lived between the protocol and the person. I have written for and advised sponsors, CROs, sites, and public health organizations while remaining accountable to patients, participants, and communities who have been talked at for decades and have had every reason to tune the industry out.

I have created engagement strategies rooted in trust brokerage: standing in the gap between industry and patient communities, listening before messaging, and turning lived experience into action. I coined “trustworthiness” in the biopharma and research ecosystem to shift the trust paradigm and place the accountability where it belongs. Industry has to earn participant and community trust through transparency, integrity, authenticity, and consistency.

That work has produced measurable recruitment and retention success, including remarkable rescue results when enrollment had stalled. I have also created new metrics for what patients, participants, and communities have gained— understanding, agency, relevance, respectful experiences, and reasons to remain engaged— not only whether an industry timeline was met or a product reached market quickly. Clinical Ambassador has led this work for years and remains a leader in turning lived experience and evidence into practical engagement strategy.

What I have done

  • Clinical research communications

I have translated protocol language into plain, dignified English and written consent support, study branding, and recruitment materials that survived review without losing their humanity.

  • Patient recruitment & retention

I have built enrollment and retention strategies around who was actually being asked, pairing message testing and channel planning with the lived realities of skeptical communities.

  • Health communications & writing

I have written articles, campaigns, scripts, and long-form content on health literacy and access for the person reading them— not only the committee approving them.

  • Marketing & engagement strategy

I have developed positioning, brand voice, and campaign architecture for organizations that needed to earn trust before they could expect to be understood.

  • Trustworthiness & representation

I coined “trustworthiness” in the biopharma and research ecosystem to shift the trust paradigm and place accountability where it belongs: industry has to earn participant and community trust through transparency, integrity, authenticity, and consistency.

  • Speaking & advocacy

I have used panels, podcasts, writing, and direct counsel to challenge what the industry has misunderstood about participation, persuasion, and accountability.

The arc

From Clinical Ambassador to The Kalloo Collective

Clinical Ambassador has been the pioneering practice through which I have brought patient voice, trust brokerage, and years of engagement expertise into clinical research. It is both the record of that entrepreneurial path and an active standard-bearer for accountable, patient-centered engagement.

The Kalloo Collective is the second act, and the current one. Same conviction, wider remit: the consulting practice now sits alongside product, wellness, resale, and land ventures under a single company.

The through-line is unchanged. Find the people being overlooked, and build something they would actually choose.
